Our take on Please Teach Me Onedari Shogi
The teaching and relationship systems make the matches less focused on pure Shogi competition. Players trade a strictly opponent-driven challenge for requests, retries, favorability changes, and character-focused progression.
What is Please Teach Me Onedari Shogi?
Please Teach Me Onedari Shogi is based on traditional Japanese Shogi, where players alternate turns moving pieces with distinct movement rules and aim to capture the opposing Ousho.
The game features matches against three novice girls. During difficult positions, they can ask for a hint or request that the game state be replayed. Progressing through games also provides conversations and relationship development, with favorability affecting what occurs. The title includes a function intended to support players who are beginners at Shogi. Separate downloadable content is available for each girl for players seeking additional relationship-focused content.
