Our take on Platypus Reclayed
Rather than expanding the shoot-'em-up format with complex systems, Platypus Reclayed keeps the structure focused on direct arcade action. Its main departure comes from the handmade claymation presentation, which replaces the usual abstract or digitally illustrated visual style.
What is Platypus Reclayed?
Platypus Reclayed is an arcade shoot-'em-up set in the conflict between Colossatropolis and Mungola.
Players pilot the F-27 “Platypus,” an antique fighter defending Mungola against Colossatropolis’s battle fleet. The game rebuilds the original Platypus with new models, claymation artwork photographed in 4K widescreen, updated gameplay, new weapons, and additional content. Two players can play simultaneously. Adjustable difficulty settings support different challenge levels, while the soundtrack combines the original Platypus music with licensed remixes of 1980s game tunes. The game is presented as a complete revamp rather than a simple remaster and retains the series’ focus on straightforward arcade shooting.
