ActionIs Platypus worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Arcade shooter fans who want fast aircraft combat
- Two-player households seeking simultaneous action
- Players who prefer adjustable difficulty over a fixed challenge
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking slow, exploratory pacing may bounce off the constant arcade shooting action
- Players wanting a story-driven or progression-focused structure may hit a wall with its compact shoot-'em-up format
- Solo players who specifically want a cooperative experience will not use the simultaneous two-player feature
Our take on Platypus
The bounce point arrives when players expect a broader campaign structure: Platypus centers on repeated arcade shooting, so those seeking exploration, character development, or varied mission systems may stop there.
What is Platypus?
Platypus is an arcade-style shoot-'em-up set in the polluted city of Collosatropolis and neighboring Mungola.
Players control an F-27 fighter plane, the Mungolan defense force's last aircraft, in a conflict against the Collosotropolan Battle Fleet. The game focuses on fast, frantic shooting action and supports two players at the same time. Adjustable difficulty settings change the challenge, while claymation-style graphics provide the visual presentation. The listing also describes unlimited play and positions the game as suitable for the entire family. A newer version, Platypus Reclayed, adds new models, artwork, gameplay updates, weapons, and additional content.
