Our take on Planet Driller
The defining structure is the changing mineral economy: selling more of a resource lowers its price, so each expedition alters the value of future finds.
What is Planet Driller?
Planet Driller is a mining game about finding DarkMatter on a distant planet to save Earth.
Each new game generates a different world from a seed and difficulty, with more than 4 billion possible worlds. Players drill through mineral deposits, sell what they find, and spend the proceeds on improvements to drill speed, tank capacity, storage, and hull protection. Explosives can clear difficult paths, while a beacon returns the player to the surface. Meteor showers, earthquakes, and blizzards create hazards during expeditions. The game also includes a changing mineral market, procedurally generated MIDI ambience, additional ships, achievements, Steam Cards, and score leaderboards.
