StrategyIs Pirates Outlaws worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike card-game players who want repeatable expeditions with changing deck and relic combinations
- Strategy players who enjoy chapter-based battles against pirates, outlaws, and bosses
- Creative players interested in customizing heroes, cards, relics, and other adventure content
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a continuous story campaign may find the expedition-based structure too segmented
- Players who prefer low-pressure combat may find the ambushes, stronger enemies, and Hard Mode demanding
- Players looking for a narrowly focused card game may not want the additional Arena, Tavern Brawl, and Workshop modes
Our take on Pirates Outlaws
The game gives up a fixed, predictable campaign structure in favor of repeatable expeditions, escalating challenges, and custom content. That design places more emphasis on deck decisions and replay-oriented modes than on a single linear adventure.
What is Pirates Outlaws?
Pirates Outlaws is a roguelike card game about guiding an expedition across dangerous seas while fighting pirates, outlaws, and chapter bosses.
Players build decks and combine cards with relics during battles. Navigate mode offers up to 7 maps and chapters, each with its own difficulty and secrets. Reaching 9999 repute unlocks Hard Mode, with harsher environments, stronger enemies, and a chapter-specific challenge. Arena mode presents a Champion after every 10 battles and draws cards and relics from all 7 chapters. Tavern Brawl uses pre-made packages for waves of pirate battles before a final encounter with the Tavern Keeper. Workshop allows custom heroes, skins, cards, relics, packages, upgrades, and enemy skins.
