We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Arcade puzzle fans who want to build chains from matching blocks
- Solo players who enjoy timed or move-limited score challenges
- Competitive puzzle players who want matches against the CPU or other players, including online play
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for open-ended progression may run out of new challenges after working through the story and puzzle modes.
- Players who prefer solving each move in isolation may hit a wall when chain setups and limited-move puzzles demand planning ahead.
- Players seeking a broad action game rather than a block-pushing puzzle may find the central mechanic narrow.
Our take on Petal Crash
The bounce point comes when a block push has consequences beyond the immediate match. Players who make moves one at a time may stall in limited-move puzzles or versus rounds, where arranging chain reactions and choosing when to clear blocks shape the board.
What is Petal Crash?
Petal Crash is an arcade puzzle game where blocks slide until they reach a wall or another block.
When a block hits one of the same color, both burst and send nearby blocks flying, setting off chain reactions. Story Mode follows seven characters through their own tales and puzzle battles. Solo Play has score challenges that use a timer or limit the number of moves. Puzzle Mode offers limited-move brain teasers and tools for making puzzles to share with friends.
Versus Mode pits players against one another or the CPU. A separate online client for Windows and Linux includes lobby-based matchmaking and rollback netcode. The story centers on seven Sacred Blossoms, which have been scattered among characters pursuing their own wishes.
