Play it if you…
Good fit- Adventure players who want puzzle-solving and environmental exploration
- Players interested in supernatural stories involving spirits, legends, and ancient secrets
- Players who enjoy traversal mechanics based on creating platforms and clearing obstacles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused gameplay may find the emphasis on puzzles, exploration, and assistance too limited
- Players looking for open-ended progression or extensive replayability may find the directed journey through one cave restrictive
- Players who prefer fast pacing may find the focus on uncovering secrets and solving environmental challenges too deliberate
Our take on Perimbó
The focus on a single cave journey gives the game a concentrated puzzle-and-exploration structure, but it leaves less room for combat systems, open-ended progression, or varied settings. Its light-block mechanic also ties traversal closely to solving environmental challenges rather than offering a broad set of play styles.
What is Perimbó?
Jaime enters a mysterious cave while following a red bird and must find a route back to the surface.
Exploration centers on puzzles, concealed passages, trapped spirits, and sacred fruits connected to the cave’s history. A magical necklace lets him form blocks of light, which can reveal routes, provide ways to climb, and help overcome obstacles. Jaime also recovers tools such as his hoe to remove corrupted roots that obstruct progress. The story follows the fate of a tribe that worshipped Guaracy, a god associated with light and nature, after invaders destroyed its sacred tree. Solving challenges and helping spirits gradually uncover the cave’s forgotten secrets.
