Our take on Past Cure
Rather than keeping action in one consistent reality, the game divides its structure between harsh real-world combat and dream sequences built around puzzles and survival. Its mental abilities also make the protagonist’s unstable perception part of the gameplay framework.
What is Past Cure?
Past Cure follows Ian, a former elite soldier coping with memory loss, nightmares, visions, and unstable abilities after years of torture and experiments.
With his brother’s help, he investigates the conspiracy behind his condition while pursuing revenge through a criminal underworld. Combat supports both direct gunfights and close-range attacks, or evasion and stealth takedowns. Ian can manipulate time and use astral projection to confront enemies and overcome obstacles. The game alternates between gritty real-world levels focused on combat and abstract dream sequences built around puzzles and survival. Story items and cinematic cutscenes gradually reveal the causes of Ian’s fractured memories and the darker force connected to his deteriorating grip on reality.
