Our take on Son of Nor
Players who rely on a conventional HUD may bounce off when they reach the game’s interface: information is built into the environment instead. That shift may be a sticking point for anyone who wants status and prompts presented in a separate on-screen layer.
What is Son of Nor?
Son of Nor is a third-person action-adventure set in the desert world of Noshrac, where a human refuge faces the return of an ancient enemy.
Players explore hostile territory, fight opponents, and investigate structures containing puzzles and traps. Telekinesis lets players move objects, hurl rocks, and set traps; terraforming changes sand to uncover passages, block routes, build barriers, or reach higher areas. Wind, Fire, and Essence magic add spells that can be combined or applied to objects controlled with telekinesis. The game includes a 12+ hour story, character customization, four-player online co-op, two-player local split-screen co-op, and four-player competitive multiplayer. Its interface information is integrated into the environment rather than shown through a GUI or HUD.
