Our take on PARQUET
Readers seeking direct action will hit the wall at the visual-novel format, which centers on reading the story and following relationships. Others may bounce when the narrative shifts into shared living, personal secrets, and the protagonist’s extended search for an identity.
What is PARQUET?
PARQUET is an all-ages Japanese-style visual novel set in a near future where brain-machine interfaces enable the digitization of human memory.
An illegal experiment combines thousands of memories inside one vessel, creating a man who has no personal memories and questions his identity. After entering the outside world, he meets Kido Tsubasa and Ibaraki Rino, two women whose lives were also affected by unethical brain-machine experiments. The three begin living together while carrying private secrets. The story follows the protagonist’s search for meaning, his relationships with the two women, and a mystery that develops as the narrative progresses. Tsubasa is outgoing and enjoys high-calorie food, while Rino appears distant but has a compassionate nature.
