The story begins with a damaged imperial starship and a missing explorer ship in the Lentis sector. Repair the vessel, secure fuel, and seek weapons and navigation equipment while assembling drone ships. Travel across randomly generated star systems, encounter inhabitants of distant planets, and fight pirates in space battles. The player can trade, work as a mercenary, raid as a pirate, colonize a planet, negotiate with robot clans, or form a clan. The central task is to find the missing ship and return it to base, but the route through the setting and the activities along the way are left to the player.
