Our take on Paradise Lost
The defining detail is its underground setting: industrial bunker technology is placed alongside Slavic pagan imagery, making the hidden city both a postwar ruin and a mythic environment.
What is Paradise Lost?
In 1980 Poland, 12-year-old Szymon lives in a radioactive wasteland following his mother’s death.
While looking for the unknown man pictured in a photograph she treasured, he discovers and enters a vast Nazi bunker. Below ground, he explores a hidden city where advanced machinery shares space with Slavic pagan symbols. The bunker’s past emerges through the Polish rebels who seized it and the eventual fate of its residents. Amid the empty complex, Ewa, a mysterious girl, reaches Szymon using its technology. Locating her could provide clues about the man in the photograph and uncover what happened within the underground settlement.
