Our take on Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror
Focusing on one haunted-house investigation gives the game room for choice-based variations and lore discovery, but limits the initial setting and folklore range to The White Lady story.
What is Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror?
Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror is a story-driven horror game rooted in Indonesian legends, social customs, beliefs, and everyday life.
In The White Lady, Jaka comes back to the place where he grew up intending to sell a house inherited from his family. As he sorts through possessions, restores rooms, and cleans the property, he treats its contents with contempt and makes disrespectful comments. Strange incidents then begin. Players search the deserted home, examine its objects, and voice reactions to what they discover.
Their behavior affects both the events and conclusion, allowing Jaka to flee, complete the sale while leaving the presence alone, or pursue the haunting. Further runs uncover additional details about his relatives, the apparition, and the property’s disturbing past. Four folklore episodes are planned, with three intended as downloadable content.
