The bounce point arrives when scavenging turns noisy: creatures are drawn in, supplies still need collecting, and the group must reach the car before the situation closes down. Players looking for combat that can solve every encounter may hit the wall sooner.
What is Overland?
Manage a group of travelers on a turn-based journey across a post-apocalyptic United States.
Move through randomly generated levels, roadmaps, and characters while collecting fuel, first aid kits, weapons, and other equipment. Loud sounds attract creatures, so each trip involves choosing when to scavenge, rescue stranded survivors, return to the car, or leave an area. The route crosses grasslands, mountains, deserts, and stranger locations. Travelers can equip dozens of items, while decisions affect what happens next, including whether to upgrade the damaged car or rescue a dog. Version 1. 2 adds pug companions, rest stop levels, a new introduction and prologue, 3 difficulty settings, 7 game modifiers, trip records, and updated badges and statistics.

Overland compared to similar games
Overland combines turn-based survival travel, scavenging, vehicle decisions, and randomly generated trips. Shogun Showdown centers on positioning, attack tiles, skills, deck building, and repeated runs toward the Shogun, while Xenonauts focuses on commanding persistent military squads against an alien invasion. These alternatives therefore place more emphasis on combat systems and military strategy than on managing a road trip and its supplies.
