Is Orcish Skies worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want turn-based battles on grid maps
- Deckbuilding fans who prefer airship combat and multiple character options
- Players who enjoy experimenting with varied card, upgrade, and ability combinations
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking real-time combat may bounce off the turn-based battle system
- Players who prefer a fixed character build may find five characters with extensive card and upgrade options too involved
- Players looking for a direct military command game may find the airship-focused deckbuilding scope too narrow
Our take on Orcish Skies
The bounce point arrives when character choice and build construction become central: players who want a single straightforward loadout may hit a wall among five characters, 120 cards per character, and more than 130 upgrades each.
What is Orcish Skies?
Orcish Skies is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder set above the Terrestrial Plane.
Turn-based battles take place on grid maps, where an airship can launch missiles at clustered enemies, strike distant targets with lightning, or maneuver past frigates to reach a sniper. Players choose one of five characters and customize the airship with cards, equipment, techniques, powers, and passive abilities. Each character has 120 unique cards and more than 130 unique upgrades, supporting different strategies and playstyles. The campaign follows Chieftain Rugana and allies such as the elven mage Llari and the Rakshasa arms dealer Smoke as they oppose the Korblian Empire and aid the Fifty Clans.

Orcish Skies compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based combat, deck construction, upgrades, and roguelike progression, while Orcish Skies places those systems in grid-based airship battles with five characters and character-specific card pools. Men of War: Assault Squad focuses on commanding military units in large-scale World War II battles with direct combat, rather than building an airship deck around character-specific cards and upgrades.
