RPGIs OPERATOR worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy tactical shooters and want deliberate movement rather than arcade-style handling
- Players who prefer team-based operations and can coordinate with fellow operators
- Players who want mission planning and replayable scenarios instead of fixed combat encounters
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking quick, arcade-style firefights may find the measured movement and tactical handling too deliberate
- Players who want a primarily story-driven or exploration-focused game may find the mission, simulation, PvP, and practice-range structure narrow
- Solo players looking to avoid team coordination may not fit the game's operator-focused teamwork structure
Our take on OPERATOR
The detailed stance, weapon, and planning systems trade immediate accessibility for control. Players must account for movement angles, firearm position, door interaction, and mission setup, which narrows the game’s focus to deliberate tactical play.
What is OPERATOR?
OPERATOR is a first-person tactical shooter about clandestine operations carried out by an elite operator.
Its combat uses realistic weapon handling, ballistics, injury effects, gore, and active ragdolls. Players can control crouching, leaning, and stance angles, use high- and low-ready firearm positions, operate weapons manually, and interact with doors and other equipment. The armory laptop provides mission planning, including operation selection, intelligence review, time of day, and infiltration point. Completed operations can be replayed in simulation mode with changes to enemy count and difficulty. PvP simulations include Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All. A randomized shoot house changes its layout and targets, includes non-targets, and records timed runs.
