What is Open Roads?
Open Roads follows 16-year-old Tess Devine and her mother, Opal, as they investigate old notes, letters, abandoned family properties, long-ago burglaries, and clues to a lost treasure near the Canadian border.
Their road trip includes time in the car, where Tess can interact with the radio and talk with her mother, as well as visits to places containing buried memories and secrets. An interactive dialogue system moves the narrative forward and exposes character flaws, hidden information, and buried truths. The game combines first-person environments with hand-animated characters and focuses on the relationship between Tess and Opal as they explore their family’s past.
