Is Omegalodon worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Multiplayer action fans who want team-based city attacks and defenses
- Players who prefer large battlefields with drivable vehicles and destructible environments
- Groups seeking short, objective-driven matches with unusual team roles
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led or progression-heavy campaign may hit a wall because the core structure centers on repeated 30-minute multiplayer rounds.
- Players who prefer slow, methodical combat may bounce off the real-time battles, vehicle action, and dozens of simultaneous players.
- Solo players may not find a suitable format if they are looking for a primarily single-player experience.
- Players wanting a compact arena may dislike the nine-square-mile setting spread across islands and cityscapes.
Our take on Omegalodon
The bounce point arrives when a player enters the match structure: success depends on a team attack or defense around one central dome, with the clock and Omegalodon's survival also deciding the round. Those seeking a standalone campaign or slower pacing may leave there.
What is Omegalodon?
Players battle across a city in third-person multiplayer matches, with police and soldiers on the Red Team using military vehicles and explosives against the Green Team: a 100-foot shark named Omegalodon and Enviros carrying healing beams.
The central target is a nuclear containment structure. Each 30-minute round concludes when that target is destroyed, the countdown expires, or Omegalodon is killed. Gameplay blends open roaming and real-time combat with a reverse tower-defense format. The nine-square-mile setting covers islands and urban areas, with destructible surroundings, dozens of driveable vehicles such as helicopters, cargo ships, and jets, fully voiced story content, and a colorful retro visual style.
