Our take on Cult of the Wind
Rather than simulating aircraft through vehicles and flight controls, the game turns players themselves into the airplanes. Its dogfights depend on spoken claims, imaginary weapons, improvised sound effects, and playful arguments over combat rules.
What is Cult of the Wind?
Cult of the Wind is a multiplayer action game about people pretending to be airplanes.
Players compete or cooperate in ritualized dogfights using imaginary weapons, pretend explosions, vocal sound effects, shields, and improvised combat rules. The setting follows a cult that imitates aerial battles around the wreckage of ancient aircraft in an Art Deco world. A point-and-click editor lets players create levels or alter existing ones, then share those creations with others on a server, including when they are not the host. Character appearance can be customized with clothing items. The game includes imaginary weapons and abilities, high-speed mock combat, and player-created content.
How Cult of the Wind plays
- 01Player-made levels
- The point-and-click editor supports creating stages or changing existing ones.
- 02Shared creations
- Custom levels can be distributed to other players on a server even when the creator is not hosting.
- 03Character customization
- Players can personalize their character with numerous clothing items.
- 04Imaginary combat
- Dogfights use pretend weapons, abilities, explosions, shields, and vocal airplane noises.
Cult of the Wind compared to similar games
Cult of the Wind centers on multiplayer human dogfights, player-created levels, character clothing, and imaginary weapons and abilities. Hentai Vs Furries is a third-person shooter with quests, guns, multiple camera angles, and emotes, while Abyssus combines multiplayer shooting with hand-crafted levels, roguelite play, and weapon refitting. These alternatives use conventional shooter structures rather than player-improvised airplane combat.
