Our take on Old World
The store presentation foregrounds dynastic drama, historical scenarios, and thousands of events, but the core structure is a broad 4X strategy game. Orders, resources, technology, cities, armies, families, and characters all compete for attention, making the experience less focused than the legacy theme alone suggests.
What is Old World?
Lead a historical empire across multiple generations while managing wars, cities, court relationships, and dynastic succession.
Marry for political reasons, raise heirs, appoint noble families, and recruit characters such as warriors, philosophers, builders, governors, diplomats, and spymasters. Characters age, gain experience, develop traits, fall ill, and die. Explore wilderness, encounter tribes and marauders, investigate ruins, and experience more than 3,000 events inspired by history and mythology. The game includes randomly generated and handcrafted maps, historical scenarios, weekly challenges, and multiplayer modes including hotseat, asynchronous, and cloud play. Its strategy systems use shared Orders, wood and stone construction resources, and randomized technology development.
