- Players looking for a modern city-building setting may not connect with the feudal Japan theme.
Our take on Oh! Edo Towns
The bounce point arrives when town growth becomes an arrangement puzzle: players must raise Yield, place compatible buildings for combinations, and use crafts on structures. Anyone looking for combat encounters or a character-led adventure will hit the limits of this town-management loop.
What is Oh! Edo Towns?
Set in Japan’s Edo period from 1603 to 1868, this simulation focuses on managing a feudal domain and developing a castle town.
Build homes, castles, and other structures on vacant lots to attract residents. Research new buildings and place compatible structures together to create combinations that raise the domain’s Yield, an overall measure based on buildings, residents, and crafts. Increasing Yield attracts additional residents, whose homes generate fees based on their home’s Yield. Artisans produce crafts with high Yield values, which can then be used on buildings to raise their parameters. Progress involves expanding the town, researching construction options, attracting residents, and arranging buildings to increase total Yield.
