Our take on OctoMaze
Rather than relying on one familiar puzzle rule, the game combines movement, collection, enemy destruction, hazards, and environmental controls. Tentacles act as both the main tool for solving problems and a resource that can be lost, adding an arcade-style risk to the puzzle structure.
What is OctoMaze?
OctoMaze follows Aristotle, a young octopus searching for artifacts stolen by rival parasites.
Players move step by step through areas, using tentacles to collect objects and destroy enemies while avoiding the death of a tentacle. The game combines mechanics associated with older titles such as Snake, Bomberman, Sokoban, Frogger, and Tapper. Levels contain different challenges, environments, power-ups, collectibles, and five enemy types. Hazards and devices include meteorites, crates, tile holes, lasers, flamethrowers, teleports, centerpieces, and surprising tiles controlled by buttons or lasers. Nightmare bonus levels add further challenges, while recovering the artifact collection provides a continuing objective across the journey.
How OctoMaze plays

- 05Nightmare bonus levels

- 06Artifact collection
- The search for a complete set of stolen artifacts supplies a continuing goal throughout the story.
