Our take on Noctuary
The two-lead format gives combat room for character switching and paired attacks, but also makes the experience less focused on a single protagonist. The story is substantial, with a main route lasting several tens of hours and more than 20 optional routes and quests, so a brief, tightly bounded narrative is not its format.
What is Noctuary?
Noctuary is a dual-protagonist visual novel following Fancia Dream and Alina Nightsong, two young illuminators who aim to become Arborangers.
Their journey through Inlixaland combines daily adventures and a developing story about a mysterious girl who fell from the sky with battles against monsters called Darkritters. Combat uses combo attacks, and the heroines have different skills and fighting styles. Players can switch between them during fights, using On-field Switch and Synergy to respond to enemies and deal finishing attacks.
The adventure includes a main story spanning several tens of hours, plus over 20 side routes and quests with other stories and characters. Companions can join the duo, and relationships and rewards connect with systems for combining character-linked Blessing Petals and customizing combat.
