StrategyIs NavalArt worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Naval history fans who want to build and arm ships from different eras
- Strategy players interested in directing carrier aircraft alongside fleet combat
- Players who enjoy adjusting ship designs and testing them before combat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly guided campaign may find the sandbox's construction and multiple modes less focused.
- Those who prefer combat without a preparation phase may not want to spend time building and adjusting ships.
- Players looking for a puzzle game, prison-escape RPG, or alien-invasion strategy game.
Our take on NavalArt
The focus on custom ship construction means combat is not the only activity: designs can be adjusted and taken out for trials before battle. Players looking for immediate action without a design phase may find that this approach gives up a more direct pace.
What is NavalArt?
NavalArt combines warship construction, physics, and combat.
In the dock, players build ships with parts from the game or the mod community, adjusting designs from overall hull shapes to details such as anchor chains. Armor and weapon arrangements affect each ship, which can be taken out for trials. Quick Battles and Operations use weapons spanning the 19th to 21st century, including naval guns, torpedoes, aircraft, and missiles. Carrier gameplay uses altitude as a resource: players configure squadrons, assign specializations, and direct air strikes.
Other content includes Career Mode, submarine mechanics, a test scene with waves of air strikes, and Gallery Mode for walking around ships and viewing a fleet. Players can get preset ships and mods through NavalArt's Steam Workshop. The game also supports multiplayer battles and cooperative stages.
