Our take on Nakiti Generations
Rather than giving players its full toolkit at the outset, the game makes exploration depend on abilities discovered along the way. Its branching routes also replace a single fixed progression with paths that can differ between adventures.
What is Nakiti Generations?
Set in 2120, Nakiti Generations follows a heroine who crashes back to Earth after a disaster near the orbital station HORIZON.
As the only known survivor, she explores a mysterious abandoned planet presented as a large open world with hidden secrets and collectibles. The game uses a Metroidvania structure: the heroine begins with few or no abilities, then discovers powers that open new routes and create forks in progression. The game includes 2D action-adventure gameplay and multiple unlockable skills. The vendor also lists scrambled item locations, speedrun, and arcade modes as planned additions for version 1. 1.
How Nakiti Generations plays
- 01Ability-Based Progression
- New powers reveal additional routes and allow different paths through the world.
- 02Open-World Exploration
- The abandoned planet contains secrets and collectibles to find while exploring.
- 03Branching Routes
- Forks in progression can produce different adventures as exploration unfolds.
Nakiti Generations compared to similar games
Sundered: Eldritch Edition is another Metroidvania, while Nakiti Generations places its progression in a large open world with collectibles, secrets, and branching routes. Jusant focuses on climbing, stamina management, and puzzle-solving on a tower, rather than ability-gated exploration across an abandoned planet.
