Our take on Murder House
Rather than framing horror around modern movement and constant convenience, the game uses tank controls, cinematic camera angles, and scarce manual saves. Its 80s slasher setup and PS1-style presentation also replace contemporary realism with a deliberately retro structure.
What is Murder House?
A local news crew enters the abandoned home of executed serial killer Anthony Smith to film a haunted-house story.
The investigation turns into a survival horror scenario as a killer stalks the crew. Gameplay uses tank controls, third-person cinematic camera angles, and multiple camera modes, with controller play recommended. Saving requires pencils found in limited supply, and there are no automatic saves. The presentation draws on fifth-generation console horror, with low-poly PS1-style visuals, a retro synth soundtrack, an 80s b-movie slasher setup, voice acting, and graphic murders. The game is identified as a spiritual successor to Babysitter Bloodbath.
