Our take on Monster Girl Manager
Players who do not want to weigh character traits against combat needs may hit a wall when assembling and training a team. The same friction can appear during a dungeon run, where health and energy management continues across multiple floors filled with traps and enemies.
What is Monster Girl Manager?
Monster Girl Manager is a monster-raising roguelite about building a team and taking it into dungeons.
Each monster girl is generated from a player-entered seed, which determines traits such as appearance, base stats, and personality; reusing a seed produces the same character. Personality and monster type shape dialogue, skills, abilities, preferred gifts, and training preferences. Players compare combat strengths and weaknesses while developing different team combinations. Dungeons span multiple floors and contain traps and enemies, with health and energy to manage during each run. Artifacts found in a dungeon add battle effects for the team. Players can also modify sprites, dialogue, color palettes, and dungeon layouts by editing the included PNG and text files, then restarting the game.
How Monster Girl Manager plays
- 01Seed-based characters
- Sharing a seed lets other players generate the same monster girl, including her stats and personality.
- 02Team training
- Monster type and personality affect abilities as well as preferred gifts and training.
- 03Dungeon expeditions
- Runs cover several floors of traps and enemies while the team’s health and energy need management.
- 04File-based customization
- Sprites, dialogue, palettes, and dungeon layouts can be changed by editing included PNG and text files without coding.
