Is MOLEK-SYNTEZ worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy programming-based chemical synthesis puzzles and optimizing their solutions
- Competitive puzzle players who want score comparisons with friends
- Zachtronics fans who also want a solitaire diversion within a simulation game
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad chemical factory-building game may hit a wall at the focus on programming one molecular synthesizer
- Players who want a purely serious simulation may bounce off the included solitaire game and its free-placement cheating option
- Players looking for an action-heavy or story-driven experience may find the optimization workflow too narrow
Our take on MOLEK-SYNTEZ
The bounce point arrives when a player must program the molecular synthesizer rather than directly assemble compounds. Anyone uninterested in iterative solution optimization may also stop at the score histograms and friend leaderboards, before reaching the optional solitaire diversion.
What is MOLEK-SYNTEZ?
MOLEK-SYNTEZ is a molecular synthesis simulation set in Cluj-Napoca in December 2092.
Players program a machine to turn industrial chemicals such as benzene, acetone, and hydrochloric acid into small molecules with pharmacological effects. Solutions can be refined and compared through score histograms and friend leaderboards, while an animated GIF exporter provides a way to share them. The game also includes an original solitaire game modeled around the Zachtronics style, with an option to place cards freely when stuck. Its setting follows a worker continuing this chemical work inside a small Romanian apartment during a cold winter.
How MOLEK-SYNTEZ plays
- 01Molecule Programming
- The synthesizer converts industrial chemicals including benzene, acetone, and hydrochloric acid into small molecules with pharmacological effects.
- 02Solution Comparison
- Score histograms and friend leaderboards provide ways to compare optimized solutions.
- 03Animated Sharing
- An integrated GIF exporter can turn solution activity into shareable animations.
- 04Included Solitaire
- A separate Zachtronics solitaire game allows unrestricted card placement when a puzzle becomes difficult.
MOLEK-SYNTEZ compared to similar games
SpaceChem also focuses on chemical production through programmed systems, but it asks players to construct factories that transform raw materials into products for frontier colonies. MOLEK-SYNTEZ centers on programming a molecular synthesizer to produce small molecules, with score comparisons, GIF sharing, and an included solitaire game.
