Our take on MegaRace 2
MegaRace 2 departs from straightforward forward racing by allowing attacks against cars behind the player and by giving each race multiple routes. It also adds cash prizes that fund new cars and weapon upgrades, placing progression and spending inside the racing structure.
What is MegaRace 2?
MegaRace 2 is a combat racing game from Cryo Interactive, released for PC in 1996 as a follow-up to the 1994 game.
Races offer several ways to reach the finish, including shortcuts, and drivers can fire weapons backward at pursuing cars. Winners receive in-game cash, which can fund additional vehicles and weapon improvements. The game includes fully rendered 3D cars and brings back host Lance Boyle, portrayed by Christian Erickson. He is joined by a female co-host whose name varies. MegaRace 2 adds alternate routes, new weapons, reverse firing, and race prizes to its combat-racing format.
