Our take on Matris
The game trades narrative and broader progression systems for repeated board-arrangement challenges. Its editor and customization options add variety, but the central activity remains placing pieces, managing the queue, and pursuing coverage or scores across related modes.
What is Matris?
Matris is a logic puzzle game built around arranging pieces on a board.
Puzzle Mode removes time limits and focuses on coverage, while Combo Mode rewards chains, line alignments, scores, and multipliers. Time Attack applies a time limit, removes bonuses, and continually supplies blocks; Free Play follows Combo Mode without a score target. Lifelines can reshuffle the queue, select the current piece, skip it, or undo the previous move. The game includes 20 stock levels, 25 achievements, a level editor, and custom levels. Players can select from 96 themes, 10 color palettes, and two customizable palettes. Mouse, keyboard, and gamepad controls are supported.
