Our take on MARDEK
The three-chapter structure leaves the larger story unfinished: the series was initially planned for eight chapters, but only three were made. That gives the release a defined stopping point rather than a complete arc across the intended series.
What is MARDEK?
MARDEK is a retro-inspired RPG that mixes fantasy and science fiction with comedy and a story about moral ambiguity.
Its three chapters follow Mardek from childhood through Royal Guard training and into his work as a Royal Knight, alongside Rohoph, an alien wizard whose consciousness shares his mind. Build a party from a broad cast of characters with distinct stories, personalities, and skills. Explore elemental dungeons, fight monsters and dramatic bosses, and collect equipment. The game combines the three chapters originally released between 2007 and 2010. This version also has less-compressed music and small changes to the costs of some rare items and skills. The planned eight-chapter series stopped after three chapters, so the story remains unfinished.
