Play it if you…
Good fit- Action RPG players who want a story about rescuing a captive princess from a demon.
- Players interested in games originally produced in 1984 who want a single-character adventure.
- Fantasy players who prefer a quest centered on collecting magic orbs and confronting named monster types.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a detailed party system may find the solo-hero premise limiting.
- Players who want a story outside a rescue quest may find the central objective narrow.
- Players seeking a self-contained series conclusion may not want the first entry in a trilogy.
Our take on The Demon Crystal
The solo-rescue premise keeps the story focused on Ares, but leaves the Justice Troop out of the playable journey after its defeat. The plot is also the opening chapter of a trilogy, so it does not present itself as the series’ final installment.
