Our take on Lucid Trips
Its defining feature is a bodyless VR avatar controlled through two ghost-like arms, combining free-flight movement with hand-driven climbing instead of teleportation.
What is Lucid Trips?
Lucid Trips is a seated virtual reality experience set in planetary dream worlds.
Players control a bodyless consciousness with two ghost-like arms, using hand controllers to move through the environment. Movement combines weightless, jetpack-like flight with physics-based climbing rather than teleportation or room-scale locomotion. Current content includes a tutorial, 20 challenges, exploration of one planetary world, asynchronous multiplayer activities involving hiding and leaving traces, an artwork by DAIM, flight power-ups, and an arcade speed-flight challenge. The experience supports Rift and Vive headsets, while Windows MR headsets and Index controllers are not supported. Its experimental movement system includes adjustable comfort settings, and the vendor recommends a maximum 15-minute session for beginners.
