Our take on Lost Nova
The cozy framing puts the relaxed pace front and center, while the game also asks players to gather, craft, trade, upgrade equipment, and manage several activities. That broader resource-and-progression loop may be less apparent than the fishing, friendship, and no-enemies presentation.
What is Lost Nova?
Lost Nova follows Mia after a spaceship crash leaves her stranded on an alien planet.
Exploration centers on collecting materials with a salvaging laser, then turning those resources into equipment improvements or currency for purchases. Farming, mining, fishing, and discovery provide different ways to earn wealth. There are no time limits or enemies, so progress follows a relaxed pace. Mia can meet other stranded characters, assist with personal problems, and uncover clues about the world and why people struggle to leave it. Actions also affect local places and inhabitants, including the creation of a gathering hub and the restoration of a pet store. A spectral cat and activities such as fishing in lava pools add to the setting.
