Is Legioncraft worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fantasy strategy players who want to recruit heroes and organize legions rather than focus on a single protagonist.
- Puzzle-game fans who want battles built around square-based gameplay rather than conventional combat controls.
- Players interested in editing creature and skill content and browsing community creations.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat without puzzle-based mechanics may find the square-puzzle battles restrictive.
- Those wanting a narrowly focused campaign may find the mix of recruitment, resource gathering, treasure hunts, mini-games, and content editing too broad.
- Players looking for an editor that already supports level creation may find its current creature and skill editing scope limiting.
Our take on Legioncraft
The puzzle-based battle format gives combat a specific structure, but it also ties battles to that mechanic. The editor has a similar boundary: creature and skill editing are available now, while level editing is described as a future addition.
What is Legioncraft?
Legioncraft is a fantasy game built around square-puzzle battles.
Across six lands, players use battle power, food, gold, and hearts to recruit adventurers, form legions, gather resources, find treasures, and challenge the Demon King. Playable heroes have distinct abilities, and skills can be combined in different ways. The game includes campaign levels, customizable encounters, and nightmare-difficulty battles. Players can also play card mini-games and use an editor to modify creatures and skills. The editor’s level-editing capability is described as a future addition. A club offers the Lucky 13 mini-game, where players can spend gold.
