Our take on Late For Work
The central gorilla-versus-humans premise draws attention to the matchup, while the actual structure is a set of local multiplayer modes with role changes between rounds. The experience therefore depends on having a group available, rather than providing a standalone VR campaign.
What is Late For Work?
Late For Work is a local multiplayer VR party game centered on a giant gorilla and up to four human opponents.
One participant uses the headset as the gorilla, while other players join without VR and work together or flee. Players can change roles between rounds. Matches use fast-paced play and physics-based interactions, with objects serving as possible weapons or shields. The game includes seven listed modes: Classic Deathmatch, Hide & Seek, Last Man Standing, Bull Run, UFO Invaders, Bodyguard, and Ape Escape. Scenarios range from fighting tanks and jets to finding stolen items, identifying disguised enemies, protecting civilians and cattle, guarding a VIP, or escaping capture as a smaller gorilla.
