Our take on Last Word
Rather than sending characters through a conventional dungeon-filled quest, the game confines its cast to a social gathering where conversation supplies both the combat system and the path to new story information.
What is Last Word?
Last Word is a dialogue-focused JRPG set during a prestigious gathering at Professor Chet Chatters’s residence.
Photographer Whitty Gawship and the other guests become trapped while the professor controls conversations through a one-way intercom. Battles use conversational tactics rather than conventional weapons, with words and subtle exchanges determining confrontations. Gossip produces topics that open further clues and mysteries. Players can drink wine, listen to distinct vocal effects for each character, and develop skills through Bow Tie Points. The story investigates the professor’s motives, his remarkable machine, and the invitation extended to Whitty, a commoner among veteran conversationalists.
