SimulationIs Lakehopper worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Flight-simulation players who want aircraft maintenance between deliveries
- Players who enjoy detailed checklists, startup procedures, and navigation tasks
- Exploration-focused players who want to travel between remote communities by seaplane
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking immediate arcade flying may hit a wall during the detailed startup procedures and physics-based takeoffs
- Players who prefer short, self-contained sessions may find persistent aircraft wear, repairs, and job tracking demanding across flights
- Players looking for combat, character progression, or a broad selection of vehicles will find the focus centered on one workhorse seaplane
Our take on Lakehopper
The bounce point arrives before the first delivery: pilots must manage startup procedures, navigation, aircraft condition, and water handling rather than simply take off. Players who do not want to monitor worn parts or perform repairs during flight may stop at the maintenance system.
What is Lakehopper?
Lakehopper is a seaplane simulator set in an ongoing world covered by rugged terrain and water.
Build a twin-engine flying boat from over 100 components, inspect each part, change damaged equipment, and carry out repairs in the air. Transport freight between remote settlements throughout a mountainous area measuring 360,000 square km. The simulation covers startup routines, navigation aids, checklists, assembly references, and water behavior for floating, launching, and landing. Movement inside the aircraft remains possible during flight, allowing system changes, refueling, and job management. A physics-driven flight model governs handling, with controls that can be reassigned for gamepads, joysticks, yokes, throttle quadrants, and other flight-simulation hardware.
How Lakehopper plays
- 01Aircraft Assembly
- The twin-engine seaplane is built from more than 100 parts.
- 02In-Flight Repairs
- Players can move around the aircraft during flight and repair or reconfigure systems.
- 03Persistent Maintenance
- Individual parts wear down and can cause failures if they are not replaced.
- 04Cargo Deliveries
- Jobs involve transporting cargo between isolated communities across the flooded region.
- 05Large Exploration Map
- The game includes a mountainous flooded map covering 360,000 square km.
- 06Flight Peripheral Support
- Controls support gamepads, joysticks, yokes, throttle quadrants, and detailed rebinding.
