Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely turn-based combat system may find the real-time battles demanding

- Players looking for a stealth-centered animal adventure may prefer Ghost of a Tale
- Players seeking cooperative tower defense alongside action RPG systems may prefer Dungeon Defenders: Awakened
Our take on Kyn
The hybrid structure trades a single, focused combat style for a broader mix of real-time fighting, tactical commands, party development, exploration, puzzles, crafting, and loot management. That variety adds decision layers, but it also makes the experience less immediately focused than a dedicated action game.
What is Kyn?
Kyn combines real-time action with tactical role-playing and exploration in a world shaped by Viking mythology and magic.
Players travel through ruins, landscapes, and snowy mountains, solving puzzles and fighting varied enemies and bosses. Combat supports environmental tactics such as setting traps, defending locations, and preparing special attacks. A slow-motion mode allows commands to be assigned to heroes during battles, including movement and flanking tasks. The party can include up to six playable characters, each equipped with different gear and abilities. Character development uses mind, body, and control attributes. Exploration also includes item collection and crafting, with more than 100 elemental materials available for combining into weapons and armor.

Kyn compared to similar games
Kyn combines real-time party combat, exploration, character development, crafting, and loot, while Ghost of a Tale centers on stealth, disguises, and conversations in an animal-populated medieval setting. Vagante presents a darker adventure built around dangerous caves, monsters, and treasure, whereas Kyn emphasizes a controllable group of up to six heroes and structured tactical commands.
