Our take on Kings of Hell
The store page highlights a large cast and many unlockables, but the listed starting lineup contains four characters and the named extras are mainly galleries, emotes, and artwork. The five-Duke structure gives the campaign a more defined scope than the broad throne premise suggests.
What is Kings of Hell?
Set in 2112, one hundred years after the rapture, Kings of Hell follows four characters fighting demons on a planet ruled by Hell.
This 3D beat ’em up uses cel-shaded graphics and draws on the gameplay style of early-2000s 3D beat ’em ups. Players choose Lutin, Enfer, Gremile, or Mal, each with distinct abilities, gameplay styles, and combos, while additional characters can be unlocked. Attacks build a combo meter that can be exchanged for special grabs.
Sandboxed areas let players complete objectives in different ways, either together or separately during cooperative play. The campaign centers on defeating five Dukes of Hell, while point competition determines who claims the King of Hell title. Unlockables include a trophy viewer, sticker emotes, and painted artwork.
