Our take on King's Bounty: Warriors of the North
Its defining structure is the split between real-time travel across Endoria and turn-based tactical battles, with Rune Magic adding a resource choice inside each encounter.
What is King's Bounty: Warriors of the North?
This standalone tactical RPG follows Olaf, a Viking warrior defending Endoria’s northern lands from an advancing undead army.
The campaign spans Nordig, icy islands, ancient strongholds, and war-torn territories, with real-time exploration across a hand-crafted world and turn-based battles. Combat centers on positioning, unit synergy, morale, preparation, and Rune Magic, which lets units spend runes for temporary battle bonuses. Five Valkyrie companions provide distinct abilities and bonuses for battlefield decisions and longer-term progression. The campaign also introduces Viking-inspired units such as Berserkers and Skalds, along with expanded Rage mechanics. The Premium edition adds the Dark Side Cookies DLC, including an amulet, two locations, over a dozen quests, and a new unit.
