Our take on Killer: Infected One of Us
The store presentation gives equal weight to atmosphere-focused items such as visuals and soundtrack and to the core role system. The playable scope is more specific: a 4-10-player online first-person game built around infection, concealment, voting, and treatment decisions.
What is Killer: Infected One of Us?
Set in 2040, this online first-person game assigns 4-10 players to an expedition studying unknown organisms at a research station.
One or more participants become infected with Virus-40. Infected players try to spread the virus, conceal their status, and blend into the group. Healthy players must identify the infected, use an antidote, demonstrate that they are healthy, and keep the station staffed while surviving the outbreak. Giving the antidote to a healthy player has a fatal result. The game includes quests, secret areas, anonymous voting, voice and text communication, a bonus system, and a soundtrack. Players are divided into infected and healthy roles, creating a social deduction structure around suspicion, deception, and survival.
How Killer: Infected One of Us plays
- 01Two player roles
- Infected participants spread the virus and hide their identity, while healthy participants investigate and administer treatment.
- 02Anonymous voting
- Players can use concealed voting as part of the process for identifying suspected infected participants.
- 03Voice and text chat
- Communication supports discussion among expedition members during the outbreak.
- 04Antidote risk
- Using the antidote on a healthy participant causes a fatal outcome.
- 05Station survival
- Healthy players must maintain the station with enough staff while dealing with the infection.

Peekaboo also divides players into opposing roles in an online multiplayer setting, but its structure centers on props hiding as objects and hunters searching for them. Roadside Research supports solo or up to 4 players and uses human tasks at a gas station as cover, while Killer: Infected One of Us uses infection, voting, and antidote decisions for 4-10 players.
