Our take on KAKUDO
Players seeking combat will hit the main wall immediately: KAKUDO removes battles, enemies, and traps in favor of maze navigation. Those expecting strategic complexity may also bounce when progression remains centered on solving labyrinths, collecting coins, and pursuing personal scores.
What is KAKUDO?
KAKUDO is a single-player maze adventure starring Tamashï, a small humanoid exploring and escaping labyrinths.
The game includes 50 levels, with a story mode that reveals pieces of its mystery as puzzles are completed. Time attack adds level-based time limits, while high score mode tracks personal records. Players can switch between first- and third-person perspectives and use either mouse and keyboard or a gamepad. Coins are placed throughout the mazes, and each completed level presents a new haiku. The game focuses on exploration and puzzle solving rather than battles, enemies, traps, or complex strategy, with a relaxing atmosphere and low-poly visuals rendered in Unreal Engine 5.
