Our take on Jumplight Odyssey
Rather than treating a starship as a backdrop for combat, the game makes its decks, routines, relationships, and emergencies the central play space. Its strategy structure combines colony management with a crew-focused social simulation and repeated voyages.
What is Jumplight Odyssey?
Jumplight Odyssey is a roguelite starship colony sim about guiding survivors toward the Forever Star.
Build, repair, organize, and decorate multiple decks while managing food, water, air, sleep, socializing, farming, inventory, and resource production. Crew members form relationships, develop moods and ideas, and respond to incidents such as fires, electrical strikes, radiation, and oxygen loss. Promote crew into division officers and handle their management quirks. Explore star systems with different biomes, defend against boarding parties and intergalactic invaders, and send starfighters into battle. Each voyage introduces new encounters, events, characters, and challenges, allowing the ship to be reworked for another attempt. Development is currently paused indefinitely.
