Our take on Jukai Maze
The store presentation foregrounds branching choices, multiple endings, and cinematic suspense, but the core format remains a visual novel. The forest photo mode adds free exploration, while the main story centers on reading, decisions, clues, and investigation rather than action mechanics.
What is Jukai Maze?
Set in a forest facility investigating the afterlife, this science-fiction suspense story follows Haryu Ryoushi and Shiu into Aokigahara for a video shoot.
When Shiu disappears after nightfall, Ryoushi wakes in an unfamiliar psychiatric hospital. People there offer conflicting accounts of the place: it may be a dream, another planet, or the afterlife. Choices send the narrative along branching routes, with multiple endings. As Ryoushi explores and gathers scattered clues, the truth behind the unstable reality begins to emerge, while a puzzling murder case draws him further into the forest’s maze. The game features Japanese voice acting, cinematic visuals, character portraits, and a photo mode that allows free exploration of the forest.
