Our take on Journey Up
The focus on physical climbing narrows the activity range: movement, ledges, and route progression take priority over other adventure systems. Speedrun mode also removes checkpoints, trading recovery points for a stricter attempt structure.
What is Journey Up?
Journey Up is a climbing adventure that starts in a collapsed mine and continues through different biomes toward the sky.
Progress involves jumping, gripping handholds, pulling onto ledges, and using body movement to interact with objects. Solo play works offline, while online sessions support up to 4 players. One mode lets players return to their highest checkpoint, while speedrun mode removes checkpoints and focuses on completion times. Steam leaderboards track times for individual zones and the full game. The game supports VR and desktop monitor play, with motion controls, keyboard and mouse, or gamepad input. An arm-locomotion option is also available.
