Our take on Invisible Mind
Instead of treating puzzles as obstacles in a conventional world, the game places them inside environments produced by the protagonist's consciousness. Its tests also turn personal identity into part of the quest structure, making self-examination a stated gameplay concern alongside memory recovery.
What is Invisible Mind?
Explore surreal worlds produced by the protagonist's own mind in a philosophical quest built around puzzles and personal tests.
The story takes place after the protagonist's consciousness is removed from a frozen brain and placed in Vacuumnet, a special environment operated by the company Complex. Its leaders seek memories of the patient's former life while the protagonist moves through these generated worlds. Alongside searching for clues and solving puzzles, the game presents tests that examine personal traits and identity. Questions include whether the player is introverted or extroverted, which temperament applies, how much of the person is robotic, and whether the character has schizophrenia.
How Invisible Mind plays
- 01Mind-Built Worlds
- The protagonist travels through environments generated by their own consciousness.
- 02Memory-Focused Story
- Complex attempts to recover information about the patient's life before the consciousness extraction.
- 03Personal Assessment Tests
- In-game tests examine traits such as temperament, introversion, extroversion, and the character's proportion of robotic identity.
Invisible Mind compared to similar games
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition centers on exploring a strange city within a story-driven RPG framework, while Invisible Mind uses mind-generated worlds, puzzles, and personal tests to investigate memory and identity. Jusant focuses on climbing tools, stamina management, and routes up a tower rather than consciousness and psychological assessment.
