Our take on Interregnum Chronicles: Signal
The focus on incremental upgrades and data processing narrows the moment-to-moment interaction compared with games built around combat or varied objectives. In exchange, progression choices and conversations carry most of the structure, so exploration serves the story rather than forming a separate activity.
What is Interregnum Chronicles: Signal?
An unknown extraterrestrial message reaches Earth, drawing a lone Operator and a station-based AI into an investigation aboard the Harmony space station.
Players oversee the AI’s development, convert processed data into upgrades, and improve the rate at which further data is handled. Upgrade choices shape the pace of progression and require planning around efficiency. The story advances through conversations between the Operator and the AI as both respond to the signal and uncover information about themselves. Exploration takes place in zero gravity, with free movement around the station and collectibles to find. This first-person game is the opening chapter of a series set in the Interregnum universe, based on a Polish science-fiction novel.
