AdventureIs InFlux Redux worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle players interested in combining environmental exploration with platforming
- Players who want rolling sphere movement at the center of a puzzle game
- Players drawn to natural and abstract settings with glass-and-steel puzzle structures
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a combat-focused game may bounce off the emphasis on rolling, exploration, platforming, and puzzle solving.
- Players seeking a fast sequence of unrelated challenges may find the environmental traversal between puzzle structures too gradual.
- Players looking for a game built around conventional character movement may struggle with controlling a metal sphere.
Our take on InFlux Redux
The bounce point comes when the metal sphere becomes the sole means of movement. Players who expect conventional character controls may hit a wall during the platforming and traversal sections between puzzle structures.
What is InFlux Redux?
InFlux Redux is a remake of a puzzle game about a mysterious metal sphere that falls onto a deserted island.
The game combines exploration and platforming across natural and abstract environments. Glass-and-steel structures are placed around the island, with each one presenting a cubic puzzle to solve. The journey also includes an alliance with a humpback whale and an original soundtrack by Jonathan Yandel. Redux was rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, with revised graphics, physics, and game code. It follows the same game as the earlier InFlux release while presenting its environments, movement, and puzzles through the remake’s updated implementation.
How InFlux Redux plays
- 01Sphere-based movement
- The player controls a metal sphere while moving through the island’s environments and platforming sections.
- 02Cubic puzzle structures
- Glass-and-steel structures distributed across the island contain puzzles to solve.
- 03Varied environments
- The game moves through both naturalistic landscapes and abstract settings.
- 04Whale alliance

- 05Original soundtrack
- Jonathan Yandel composed the game’s original music.
- 06Unreal Engine 5 remake
