We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players interested in virus-themed simulations involving infection and mutation
- Fans of microscopic settings who want to play as a pathogen rather than an immune defender
- Players drawn to clone-based spread and chain-infection bonuses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a game centered on direct combat rather than spreading infection and evading immune cells
- Players who prefer a story-led structure over repeated infection, mutation, and propagation
- Players uninterested in microscopic biology themes or controlling a virus
Our take on Infectious
Rather than casting the player as a defender against disease, the game makes the virus the playable force. Its central loop is to spread through organs, gather DNA for mutations, and use clones while immune cells oppose the infection.
What is Infectious?
Control a virus as it spreads through multiple organs in a host body.
Infect cells, evade immune cells, and compete with other microorganisms for dominance. DNA collected during play can be used for mutations, upgrades, and new abilities. Spawn viral clones to spread infections, and trigger chain infections that provide incremental bonuses from clone activity. The game includes different virus types with distinct abilities, including an alien-like virus originating from space. Immune cells behave in ways that mimic real-life immune responses. Gameplay centers on propagation, mutation, infection chains, and observing viruses affect the host at a cellular level.
How Infectious plays
- 01Multiple Virus Types
- Different viruses have distinct abilities, including an alien-like type said to come from space.
- 02DNA-Based Mutations
- Collected DNA can be used for mutations, upgrades, and additional abilities.
- 03Viral Clone Spawning
- Clones spread infections and can contribute to chain reactions that grant incremental bonuses.
- 04Immune Cell Behavior
- Immune cells mimic behaviors associated with real-life immune responses.
